Zauba Hints Samsung Galaxy Note 7 to Sport 6-Inch Screen
Indian export and import tracking company Zauba reveals Galaxy Note 7 to sport a 6-inch screen. Though the information is unconfirmed but the listing on its website suggests Samsung could be working on even a bigger variant of the phablet than earlier rumored.
Zauba listing reveals Samsung has imported the device into India from home country South Korea bearing model number SM-N930R4. SamMobile had earlier reported the model number of Galaxy Note 7 as SM-N930 and hence the information from Zauba can be believed to be true. Also, the tracking website has always been correct about display sizes of devices.
However, it cannot be ruled out the device mentioned in Zauba tracking website can be just a prototype being tested by the company or they might have made an error mentioning the screen size.
Not to forget, the phablet is just a month away from launching and at this point there is not much evidence to support the screen size could be bigger than 5.7-inch. So, until some more related information arrives, the Zauba listing can be taken with just a grain of salt.
Samsung is slated to launch Note 7 on August 2 and until now most of the rumors and links suggested the phablet to come with a dual-edge 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screen.
Meanwhile, a week ago glimpse of the device came from noted tipster Evan Blass claiming Note 7 to come in Black Onyx, Silver Titanium and Blue Coral color variants. There has been nothing said about Gold variant, which is though expected.
The image further reveals Galaxy Note 7 to come with dual-edge display. It seems the S Pen issues have now been solved. Samsung ditched the Edge variant with Galaxy Note 5 due to the issue. So, this year the South Korean giant may be ditching flat screen variant completely and to only release dual-edged devices.
It is also highly rumored the phablet to come with iris scanner at the front to offer users’ ability to unlock the device by just looking at it. If turns true, this will be the first time such feature is coming in a phablet.
Another image leaked from Olixar earlier reveals the Note 7 to feature a USB Type-C port. The website too reiterates the Iris scanner rumor.
The other rumors from various sources hint Note 7 to run on a new Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based TouchWiz ‘Grace’ UX operating system and to come with optimized hardware to make the device further battery-efficient, to last video playback for up to 20 hours.
The device is also expected to be powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 or Exynos 8893 SoC processor and 6GB of RAM. It is to be mounted with a 12-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. The device is to be fueled by a 3,600 mAh battery and come in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB onboard storage options.
There is something to discuss about naming of the device. Samsung has jumped from Galaxy Note 5 to Galaxy Note 7, ditching completely the 6th edition. The reason behind the Note 6-skip is believed not to un-complicate things for customers. The phablet will henceforth match with the younger flagship sibling, the Galaxy S7. So, there won’t be confusing presuming the year of launching of each device.
