The wait is over for Motorola fans. The already introduced phones, Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Force Droid, will get price tags. Verizon has sent invites to media houses for an event on July 14, Thursday, in New York City to reveal launch information including release date. Both the Lenovo-made modular-style handsets will initially be Verizon exclusive.

The phones were first introduced last month at Lenovo Tech World, but only limited information was revealed. Hence, all eyes now will be on the July 14 event to understand better about Motorola’s first attempt at making a modular-style phone. Stay tuned sharp at 10 a.m. ET.

As of now it is known the Moto Z is build of aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel. It is 5.2mm thin and sports a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED screen. The device is mounted with a 13-megapixel rear camera equipped with laser autofocus, OIS as well as dual-tone LED flash. At the front end it comes with a 5-megapixel wide-angle lens. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 SoC and 4GB of RAM. It carries a 32GB of onboard storage that can be expandable up to 64GB via microSD card.

Lenovo has equipped the Moto Z Droid with a fingerprint scanner too and has made it water-resistance with the help of a water-repellent coating. It runs on the newest Android 6.0 Marshmallow mobile operating system and houses a USB Type C connector. The phone is fueled by a non-removable Li-Ion 2,600 mAh battery with quick charge feature.

The Moto Z Force Droid on the other hand is more powerful and thicker too at 6.99mm. It comes with a powerful battery of 3,500 mAh and 21-megapixel of rear camera with additional face detection autofocus feature apart from the OIS and laser autofocus. The rest is almost identical to the Moto Z sibling, but it is to note neither of the handsets has a 3.5mm headset jack. This mean the USB Type C would be used with an adapter in the box for headphone.

The notable selling point of both the devices is support for new MotoMods, which are modular accessories that snap onto the back magnetically. The Z Droid will not be exclusive later to Verizon. In September Motorola will launch an unlocked version of it globally. As of now it is not very clear whether Moto Z Force will always be an exclusive to Verizon.

The Moto Z will be made available in Black/Gray, Black/Rose Gold, Black/Gold, White color options.
