Nowadays, television technology has evolved very fast, it is all done to full fill the market needs. And as a consumer, the technology has given us many things we cannot enjoy in the past. Today, I can watch TV over the internet from my computer/laptop at any time, anywhere I want and any kind of TV program I like. Thanks to the internet for all these amazing things.
There are a few categories of TV channels available in the internet:
- Free internet TV, some TV channels like NBC, Fox, ABC, and AOL offering full, free episodes of your favorite shows online with advertisement and no different than watching your traditional TV.
- Mix of pay to view and free show
- Paid TV show, you can download it and watch it from your computer or ipod
To watch TV over the Internet, you do not need additional equipment, you can watch it through an Internet TV channel’s own web site or through your computer’s media player (you can use window media player or real player, QuickTime, and Winamp). But you must have a good internet connection (broadband DSL or cable connections) because slower Internet connections can’t transmit or “stream” TV signals continuously.
There are many satellite TV services in the internet, you can search what you want by typing it in google. But recently, I use one of online satellite TV services that allow me to watch 9000 satellite TV channels on my PC/laptop.
